Peter J. Meier, MD
Dr. Meier is an experienced and recognized board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been with the IVCH orthopedic practice for more than two decades. Certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, he has published and presented a variety of scientific papers.
Dr. Meier earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College. After completing a residency in general surgery at Rush Presbyterian–St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Meier’s undergraduate degree is from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he graduated magna cum laude. A resident of Peru, Dr. Meier is married and has three children.
Robert J. Mitchell, DO
Dr. Mitchell is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who earned his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery at Midwestern University–Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine that included work at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Weiss Memorial Hospital and University of Chicago Hospital as well as at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Columbia Olympia Fields Hospital and Medical Center. Before entering medical school, Dr. Mitchell graduated cum laude from St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. Dr. Mitchell is an Illinois Valley native. He, his wife, Tracy, and their three children live in Peru.
Catherine Renk, PA-C
Renk is a board-certified physician assistant who has been part of the IVCH orthopedics team since 1990. She has a master’s degree in physician assistant studies with a specialty in orthopedics from the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha. Prior to that, she graduated from the physician assistant program at Wichita State University in Kansas. She and her husband, Jim, have two children and live in Peru.
Debra Pyszka, PA-C
Pyszka earned her bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove. She was board-certified in 1999 and has been part of the IVCH orthopedics practice since 2005. A resident of Granville, Pyszka and her husband, David, have three children.
