Your health care team

Nursing

Members of the nursing staff will visit your room throughout the day to bring fresh water, give baths, administer medicine and treatments, and assist with your needs.

In addition, a registered nurse will visit you often to observe your progress and provide individualized care. Your nurse will report any change in your condition to your doctor, as well as any need requiring your doctor’s judgment and care.

Medical staff

Your doctor will visit you to discuss your progress and treatments.

Pastoral care

The IVCH pastoral care representative will visit you to offer pastoral care services. You may wish to state your church/denomination when you are admitted. At your request, your pastor will be informed that you are a patient.

You are encouraged to make recommendations for improving the service being provided by the hospital staff. You have the right to make a complaint about services provided. You have the right to expect a timely reply to your inquiry. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may inquire further with the administrator’s office at ext. 3508.

Social service

If needed, the IVCH social service department can help with your discharge planning by contacting community groups and agencies offering family and personal support and counseling services, and by arranging for appropriate custodial care accommodations, nursing home admissions, and referrals.
