Flowers
Local florists also deliver flowers to the hospital daily, except on Sunday. Floral arrangements are not permitted in intensive care rooms. Please do not hang floral arrangement from drapery rods, shelves or television brackets.
Newspapers
Local and national newspapers may be purchased from vending machines located on the first floor.
Notary public
If you have need for a notary public, tell your nurse and she will arrange for one to visit your room to assist you. There is no charge for this service.
Interpreters/communication assistance
IVCH has access to interpreters for patients who require it. Arrangements can be made for other communication assistance as needed.
Identification bracelets
You must wear your plastic identification bracelet at all times while you are a patient. This will ensure that you receive the correct medicine and treatment.
Infection control measures
Infection control procedures at IVCH are designed to protect our patients and staff from cross-infection.
You may notice that hospital staff are wearing gloves, gowns, masks and/or goggles when caring for you. All infection control procedures will be explained to you by your doctor and nurses.
Medical records
A complete medical record is kept for each admission to the hospital. This is available for reference by your doctor. The record, including x-ray film and laboratory slides, is the property of the hospital.
