A licensed professional nurse must be able to meet the needs of patients
of all ages physically, socially and emotionally; must be able to accept
responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing
care for patients in the intensive care setting; responsible for own personal
and professional growth.
Education / Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; completion of an associates
degree level RN or higher; ICU experience required; BSN not required but preferred
Licensure / Certification: Registered Professional Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Illinois;
current CPR certification; Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(ACLS) within six months of hire; Certificate in Pediatric Advanced Life
Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
Other Knowledge / Skills: Basic computer skills; good interpersonal communication skills; ability
to function independently; ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting,
pushing, or pulling; motor coordination to work with equipment; ability
to understand oral and written instructions.
