Medical Laboratory Technicians are responsible for quality, by strict adherance
to Laboratory and Hospital policies and procedures, through all phases
of specimen testing: Pre-Analytical, Analytical and Post-Analytical. This
ensures efficient, accurate, and timely results for the Patients of Illinois
Valley Community Hospital.
Associate of Science or Applied Science degree required, Laboratory Sciences
preferred; Completion of a Laboratory Clinical rotation program required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or Clinical
Laboratory Sciences required; Completion of a Laboratory Clinical rotation
Computer skills; ability to cope with stressful situations; strong communication
skills; good manual dexterity; accurate color perception; visual acuity;
ability to stand for extended periods
