Under general supervision of the EKG Supervisor, according to previously
defined procedures and upon the request of a physician, operates an electrocardiograph
machine to record electromotive variations and impulses of the heart for
use in the diagnosis of heart disorders on all ages of patients including
toddler, pediatric, adolescent, middle-age adult and geriatric. Assists
with all other related duties in the department.
Education / Experience: High School graduate; EEG Technician; Stress Test Technician; Holter Monitor
Licensure / Certifications: CPR certified required, ACLS preferred, Certified Cardiovascular Technician
(Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
Other Knowledge / Skills: Light typing ability; Holter Monitor Scanner; Cardiac Clinic Assistant;
Cardiac Rehab Exercise Leader and Monitor Tech. Takes supervisor duties
when supervisor is unavailable;Technical ability is required to understand
cardiac procedures; Ability to work without supervision; Requires close
attention and consentration; Able to correlate and prioritize workload;
Must be flexible when there are interruptions and distractions.
