Illinois Valley Community Hospital is working diligently to prepare for
the possibility of treating a high number of COVID-19 patients. This includes
making sure we have enough supplies on hand to meet the demand.
While there is a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) across
the country and ALL hospitals are conserving supplies, IVCH would like
to assure you that masks and other necessary PPE items (gloves, gowns,
eye cover, etc.)
are available and
are being worn by hospital and clinic staff as needed. Our current PPE usage
and protocols are based on CDC standard and transmission-based precautions
for caring for patients with confirmed or possible COVID-19.
While our mask and PPE supply is stable at this time, we are accepting
any and all PPE items from businesses and members of the community who
would like to make a donation.
Here is a list of items that would be accepted:
Nitrile or vinyl gloves (all sizes) Facemasks (N95-rated, procedure or surgical)
Clear, hard plastic safety eyewear Plastic gowns
Hair bouffant/cover Shoe/foot cover
Eye shields Brown paper lunch bags (all sizes)
Alcohol wipes Bleach (unopened)
PLEASE NOTE: At this time, we cannot accept or utilize homemade cloth masks.
Donations can be dropped off at the IVCH Receiving dock at the hospital,
which is accessible from Plum Street on the southeast side of the hospital
main campus. Please follow signs to Receiving and leave the donation outside
the large overhead door.
Please continue to check our IVCH website for accurate information and
for quick links to the Centers for Disease (CDC) website. You can call
the IVCH COVID-19 hotline at 815-780-3425 and talk to a nurse from 7am
-7pm daily.
The most important thing the community can do at this time is make sure
you are following the State of Illinois’ stay at home order.
We are very appreciative of everyone’s cooperation and support.
