Job Description

The Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for coordinating the clinical relationship for Information Systems. In this capacity, the individual will work to develop clinical relationships, work to assess clinical system needs and to help determine clinical impact assessment for system changes. An essential responsibility within this role is keeping IS informed and updated concerning the IS needs of the clinical staff. This role will perform the facilitation of the Form Committee, Clinical Systems Committee, and EMR Workgroups and will build, maintain and document the EMR system as well as perform basic computer support and on-call.

In addition, this role is responsible for the daily operation and support of the clinical applications including, but not limited to, Athena Health. This includes remote office support and training as it relates to the clinical applications. This individual will provide system support both by phone and in person to ensure quick problem resolution and will escalate problems to other staff members or to the appropriate vendor resources when appropriate. The individual will work closely with other staff and outside agencies to implement products, resolve problems, or complete assignments. This position will proactively maintain a high level of knowledge and skill on current and emerging technologies as it relates to their area of expertise. The Clinical Systems Analyst reports directly to the CIO.

Qualifications

Education / Experience: Associate degree in Computer Science, equivalent certification(s), or equivalent experience required

Licensure / Certification: Clinical Experience and/or Licensing/Certifications

Other Knowledge / Skills: In depth knowledge of HIS systems required; EMR knowledge preferred; Experience with interfaced applications; Familiarity with scanning technologies required; Familiarity with information system concepts, designs, and terminology; Familiarity with: Hardware, Windows OS, desktop applications, wireless; Experience with Windows in a network enterprise environment required; Good general knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required; Experience with healthcare software solutions and specialty applications required; Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, documentation, and telephone skills; Ability to effectively communicate and perform as a team player is essential; Strong time management, initiative, problem solving and prioritization skills; Ability to meet/complete established goals and tasks with minimal supervision; Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 environment is required; Experience working with vendors for problem resolution; Must have the ability to develop and document processes and solutions; Experience in a hospital or clinical setting required
